Parent Coaching

Parenting neurodivergent children comes with unique challenges. Regardless of your child’s age, coaching sessions are personalized so we can address whatever is weighing on you. There’s so much advice out there, it can be difficult to determine what is right for your child. My goal is to help parents navigate challenges and find feasible ways to help their children learn, grow, and thrive. The goal of personalized parent coaching is to create change that is meaningful for the whole family while balancing everyone’s needs.

Potential Goals

Reducing Challenging Behavior

Challenging behavior can impact a child’s ability to learn, socialize,, and access the world around them. Intervention is individualized after determining why the behavior is occurring.

Streamlining Routines

Mornings and evenings can be hectic for busy families. In coaching sessions we can determine what is working for your family and where you need to make changes so that spending time as a family is more fun and runs more smoothly.

Teaching Communication Skills

Developing communication skills can have a profound effect on the child and family. Whether  verbally or using a communication app, parent coaching sessions can incorporate goals for helping your child communicate their wants and needs. We can also address language skills such as, following instructions, commenting on environmental stimuli, and advocating for oneself. Through parent coaching you can learn how to help your child at home using evidence-based strategies.

Teaching Independence Skills

Teaching you how to teach adaptive skills, such as; toilet training, grooming skills, dental care, hair care, bathing, menstrual care, cleaning, or cooking skills by breaking down the skill into achievable and measurable steps.
